Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Review
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel 6-Piece Set
Sally Hansen is a famous brand of nail products that was founded in 1946.
The company manufactures a large range of nail care, including the best-selling cuticle remover and one of the oldest lines of nail polishes on the market called Hard As Nails.
Sally Hansen’s top-selling and the most talked-about product is its gel-like 2-step non-UV nail polish named Sally Hansen Miracle Gel.
What is the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel?
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish – To The Taupe
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is a no light gel polish. Also known as gel-like nail polish.
It’s a very convenient new generation nail polish that doesn’t require curing with a UV/LED lamp. So it’s like a cross between a regular polish and a gel one.
And it’s shinier, more durable, healthier, and easier to use alternative to traditional gel nail polishes.
The Miracle Gel, like a no light nail polish, has some of the qualities of gel nail polishes. For example, longevity and high shine.
However, the Sally Hansen polish is also similar to a regular polish because it doesn’t need a UV/LED nail lamp to get cured.
It just simply air dries and hardens under the natural UV rays from the sun.
Besides, the application process of this Sally Hansen no light polish doesn’t require a lengthy preparation stage.
You don’t need to apply a nail dehydrator or primer with the Miracle Gel.
Another great feature of no light gels is that they are easy to remove.
You can remove the Miracle Gel with a simple nail polish remover. No need to soak it off for a long period of time or use a nail drill to file it off.
So its application and removal processes are less damaging to the natural nails.
That’s why the Miracle Gel is very convenient for people who don’t have time to go to a salon or for those who would like to do their nails at home.
The only downside of this polish is that it’s quite thin and runny and may run into the cuticles while you’re applying it.
Colors

The Miracle Gel collection also has a lot of shades for you to choose from.
There are 30 colors in the Miracle Gel collection.
So you can pick a hue suitable for any occasion, outfit, time of day, or season. Or just a color that you like the most or that suits your personality or mood the best.
Longevity
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is more long-lasting than regular nail polish.
With proper application and wear it can last up to a week.
The manufacturer actually promises 8 days of chip-free wear.
This is longer than most regular polishes.
Proper wear means not opening cans with your nails, for example.
Non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is non-toxic.
It’s free of the most toxic substances that are not welcome in cosmetics.
Such as Formaldehyde, the Toxic Trio, etc.
It is also completely vegan and doesn’t contain any animal-derived ingredients.
Sally Hansen polish is never tested on animals either, so it’s also cruelty-free.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shiny Top Coat
The special top coat is a crucial part of its application process.
It makes the nails shine, protects your manicure, and makes the no light gel last longer.
Never use the Miracle Gel nail polish without it.
The application of the top coat is the last step in the Sally Hansen polish application process. So don’t skip the top coat.
You won’t need to cure this top coat under the lamp because it air dries too, just like the Miracle Gel color polish.
Also, it’s a completely no-wipe top coat. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue on your nails after it dries, unlike many traditional gel nail polish top coats
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Matte Top Coat
In addition to the shiny top coat, Sally Hansen also manufactures a matte Miracle Gel top coat.
You can create gorgeous velvety matte nail designs with it.
Most other no light gel nail polishes don’t have a matte top coat in their range of products.
Use the matte top coat in the same way as the shiny top coat by applying it in one layer over the already dry color polish.
It will become matte after it dries.

How to apply Sally Hansen Miracle Gel?
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel’s application process is very easy.
It works just like ordinary nail polish.
No extensive preparation is necessary.
You just need to file your nails to your favorite shape and gently push away the cuticles.
Use the Sally Hansen cuticle remover for that.
You’ll also need to buff your nails lightly.
Don’t buff too much. Be careful not to overbuff your nail plates or they would become too thin.
After that, clean the nail plate of any dust from filing with a simple nail polish remover.
No need to use a fancy cleanser, dehydrator, or primer.
The Miracle Gel application process is much more gentle on the nails than the gel nail polish application one.
Also, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel doesn’t require the use of a base coat, as it’s a 2-step polish.
You can apply the polish to your bare nails and it will stick and stay on really well.
So the first step is applying the color polish using the 3-strokes method in 2 thin layers.
Let the polish air dry for about 5 minutes.
Wait for each polish layer to dry before you apply the next one.
Don’t attempt to cure it under the UV/LED lamp to speed up the drying process.
The lamp won’t work on this kind of polish.
Your polish layer won’t dry quicker, it will just shrink and wrinkle under the lamp.
The second and final step is the application of the top coat in the same 3 strokes in one layer only.
3 stroke method
Pick a bit of Miracle Gel from the bottle.
Wipe the excess polish off the brush against the opening of the bottle.
Like any nail polish or gel nail polish, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel must be applied in thin layers.
Thin coats of nail polish dry quickly and stay on much better.
Place that bit of polish in the middle of the nail close to the cuticles.
Gently spread it over the nail towards the free edge.
Cap the free edge by painting over the edge and a bit under the nail. Avoid painting the skin.
This is the first stroke of polish.
Pick another bit of polish and spread it over the side of the nail in a similar way.
Repeat it with the other side of the nail. Cap the free edge too.
Attempt to cover the entire nail plate with these 3 strokes.
After this layer of the Miracle Gel dries apply the second layer of the polish in the same way.
Repeat all these steps when applying the top coat as well.
How many layers do I need to apply?
The best number of layers, according to the manufacturer is two. Then add the top coat.
For darker, more pigmented colors 1 layer of polish may be enough.
But if the polish is sheer or looks streaky when applied in two layers you can apply a third coat for better coverage.
The top coat should be applied in 1 layer only.
What is Sally Hansen Miracle Gel drying time?
No need to cure any of the layers under the lamp. Wait for them to air dry.
The polish dries pretty quickly on its own. In about 5 minutes.
But don’t apply the next layer until the previous one dries or you will ruin your manicure.
How to remove Sally Hansen Miracle Gel?
You can remove the Miracle Gel very easily.
No need to soak it off for a lengthy period of time, wrap your nails in foil, or file the polish off with a nail drill.
Use an ordinary acetone-based remover and just wipe the Miracle Gel off, just like you do with any regular polish.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is a great alternative to a salon gel manicure.
It’s an amazing no-light gel polish that is super-easy to use at home.
